Camel lips are just plain weird!
Their upper lip is split in the middle, each side seems to move independently of each other.
Camels can use their lips to grasp things almost like we use our fingers...it is the strangest thing.
Oh yeah...camel breath isn't the prettiest either!
I think I may grow some mint for Gizmo next year...he doesn't seem to like Listerine!
Note: If you could ignore the un-manicured, manly, farmer girl hands it would be greatly appreciated...I have my dad's hands, what can I say? It was so embarrassing at 19 to go to try on my engagement ring and find out I wear the same size as the groom. It is a trauma I have yet to come to terms with...and we won't even go into learning I wear the same size shoe as said future husband!
I don't want your pity...just your understanding

I'm laughing at two things. The camel lips and the story of hand trauma. Not laughing 'at' mind you...but 'with', believe me. I was one of the smallest little girls in all my school years. But my hands and feet ... an entirely different story. I own it now ... after all these years it doesn't bother me as much. But after all the gardening and outdoor activity my hands are lovingly called my "man-hands" ... but they DO work so well for me.

Hello my dear, I didn't even give a thought to your lovely hands until you mentioned them! I love Gizmo's lips, but it looks like he needs to visit a dentist for teeth cleaning;-) Just kidding-I just noticed they are a little brownish, but no different than my dogs! I'm glad he's still healthy and fun for your family to take care of!
Hey, as far as your hands and feet--and 'shortness'--everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way. My daughter sounds exactly like you, Kim! She is going to be 21 this month, and is just a bit over 5 feet tall. Her shoe size is an 8 1/2 to 9 and she has wide, flat feet. She's never been able to buy shoes in stores--we have to special order them, especially 'dressy shoes' for prom, etc. Her width just prevents her foot from going in to most shoes;-( She has hands that look fine to me, but they are large for her short stature. She was put on growth hormone from age 13 to 16 after she was tested & we learned that her pituitary gland wasn't producing enough of it. She was so short that we were concerned for her. She grew to 5 ft., but hands and feet grew as if she were my height of 5'7". She is quite cute and though she has a few areas that might be problematic at times, she seems happy and well adjusted!
I know you are too! You're the only one who even notices or cares, I'm sure! So just keep on enjoying your kids and all the gifts you have around you. That's what I'm trying to do. It isn't always easy, I know!
Have a wonderful 2nd half of July:-)

Like Jan, I didn't even look at your hands. I'm guessing that any of us that have animals or gardens or even children, have hands that leave something to be desired.
Obviously, your DH didn't care one bit that your fingers were as big as his, nor his feet. He probably considered you (and still does), perfect in practically every way. :)

Oh, you've got it friend. I've got big hands and feet too (I'm 6ft after all). But hey, dainty is overrated! ;)

I've been gone to long! I'm so happy it's finally raining here today and I get time off that I could kiss those lovable camel lips!
I see we use the same manicurist and that's a cute story about your hands. hugs! ang.

Awww, I love camel lips! I'm taller than my husband, so I can relate a little. Oh, and I've only had one manicure at a salon in my whole life, to me a manicure is cutting my nails! Real women have dirt under their fingernails. ;)

My husband said to me recently (as I showed him yet another picture I took of something I was holding in front of the camera)..."Why do your hands always look so chubby?" I've wondered the same thing, and I've tried holding my hands at different angles and it doesn't help...but he didn't have to SAY anything!!!

HA! My wife wears bigger shoes than I do and I wear size 10. She has a good foundation, a firm understanding...
