When you walk through my bedroom door...
If you can look past the un-made bed...
The socks on the floor...
The kids books strewn about...
You will see this...
I have three Cleveland Pear Trees just outside our sitting room window.
They are the first thing you see if you look out. When most trees have already dropped their leaves these are just starting their show.
Like fire right outside my window!
Beautiful tree...but what is that in the corner of her room?
Yes that is a surf board in the corner of our room...
I am married to a surfer...one that thinks his surf board is just about the coolest thing to decorate with. He hauled it all the way back from Kauai, he thinks its awesome there in the corner.
I must say I have to agree...
There is just something about a man that can ride a wave while looking cool doing it.
Me? Do I surf? Hahahaha, no way, nadda, not gonna happen. I take care of critters and kids neither which require risking life and limb on a board surrounded by the ocean while watching for sharks!
My hubby is a cool surfer dude...I'm a hick. A match made in heaven!
Shaka!
Now go and enjoy the last the Autumn's fiery show!
And remember it isn't just the trees that are on fire this time of year!

Oh, wow, Kim! Your pears are gorgeous and the surfboard does make a cool decoration (love your stove, too), but that last photo... well, I'm still breathless.

Tee hee - the contrast between a surfboard and the stove is pretty funny. And that's one very fiery pear tree.

I wouldn't know the first thing about a surf board but I am super jealous of that awesome woodstove! Holy cow she's a beauty!

Absolutely beautiful! I need to plant a colorful tree by my bedroom window so people will overlook the mess in my room :0)

I can only imagine what homes would look like if men took full control of the decorating. You at least got something cool-a surfboard. My husband would probably put welders and toolboxes everywhere!

Surfboard and stove. Just what every farmhouse has sitting right next to each other.
Don't suppose you have any pictures of your husband surfing, do you? 'Cuz otherwise we'll be inclined to think he's a surfer wannabe, just keeping the surfboard there for appearance's sake! :)
And how do you think a Cleveland Pear Tree would do in the southern climes of Alaska? I love it!

I love your view. The trees just seem to glow.
Excuse my ignorance about US geography but am I right in thinking that although you have an area of coastline in your state it isn't an obvious surfers paradise? So does that mean the surfboard gets regular Sat morning workouts or is a symbol of holidays and memories?
If it were in my bedroom it would be in danger of having dirty laundry hanging from it!
Enjoy your view while it burns brightly!
