When I was taking pictures of weeds for yesterday's post the chickens were out keeping me company. We have 13 hens that I let loose in the garden when the growing season is over. One of my darling Barred Rock hens is molting. Now molting chickens just arent very attractive. Old feather are falling out and new ones haven''t completely replaced them yet. She just looks so dishevelled!
She must be sooo embarassed standing next to that beautiful Buff...can you say bad hair day?
