When we built our home over 10 years ago I had a 'must have' list for the kitchen...
With three boys fast approaching their teenage years I knew there would be a lot of cooking going on in there!
I wanted double ovens to do large batches of bread and cookies...
A large refrigerator was a must for stocking up for their middle of the night raids...
I also wanted a second sink.
A small sink in the island that could be used for washing up, getting a drink of water, or prepping vegetables away from the main sink. I knew the big sink would usually be full of dirty dishes since the boys couldn't seem to remember to put their dishes in the dishwasher.
What I didn't envision was this...
A sink full of dirt...
Organic potting soil to be exact!
My little sink is the perfect spot for filling seed trays and today for potting up tomatoes! I use warm water from the tap to moisten and warm the potting soil as to not shock their tender little roots.
While I'm working away at the sink I can look across the little tomato plants to see this...
Hi Baby!
Of course all this playing with dirt also means my cute little sink often looks like this!
But my little tomato plants are happy...and isn't that all that matters?
Do you think she will ever get us lunch???
