We're playing with chalkboard paint again here on the farm!
The latest victim was an old kitchen cabinet that I had planned just to paint white and then hang it in the laundry room of the old farmhouse we just remodeled.
But needing an excuse to get out of laundry I decided to make this project a little more involved...
And a little more fun, than originally planned...
First I primed the ugly flat brown stained doors (sorry I forgot to take 'before' pictures)
Then I painted the middle with 2 coats of chalkboard paint.
Then I glued small piece of molding around the chalkboard paint (again forgot pictures) The molding made a frame to look like there was a chalkboard hung on the cabinet.
Then I added a piece of bead board to the side that would be showing to cover the plywood that was in bad shape. I used a scrap left over from the remodel.
Next I lined the shelves with that paper I just love, again left overs from the farmhouse kitchen.
Then I decided to have a little fun with the doors...
I had seen chalkboard 'to do' lists but I wanted to put my own spin on it...warped though it might be!
I decided what I wanted the doors to say, picked a font on the computer, printed it out and used it as a guide to freehand paint the words on.
Yep, there it is, my 'to do...or not' list!
Next I added a little flower sprig in the corner.
I cleaned the copper clad hinges and hung the doors.
Since every list needs some things on it...
My 'To Do' list is always loooong...
My 'Or Not' list was relatively short...
Well that was until a few hours later when I had to add these...
Oh those are sooooo on my 'Or Not' list!
Do you think having it in writing will inspire them not to do these things? I'll keep you posted on this!

Update...look what I just did!
My glass chalkboard jars look cute in there...hmmm, I'm sensing a theme!
