I spent yesterday out in the garden. I took the kids and my camera with me.
Here are a few of the things that to me make it a good day in the garden...
When you think all the crocus are gone but you find two hiding the back of the bed still as lovely as ever!
You really know its been a good gardening day when you look down...
And there is a worm on your boot!
And when you are gently removing the worm you look over and see...
That you chives have tiny flower buds on them!
You know your gardening day is going well when...
When the little one looks like this!
Or when you look just outside the garden gate to see these...
Sitting exhausted from having spent the afternoon racing up and down the pasture hill!
It is an unusually great day in the garden when you glance at the fence and notice...
That you have taken off not only your jacket but also your shirt. Meaning you are now gardening in your tank top...in MARCH!
It is a great day when...
You look down and you are dirty up to your elbows!
When you are done gardening and you go and lay under the cherry trees with your kids you know you have had a good day when you look up and see this...
And lay there in the warm grass while listening to your little ones recap the day giggling about Big Wheel races, mud soup, and little worms named Susy and Earl!
Yes...it was a very good day in the garden!
So my fellow spring gardeners...what makes it a great gardening day for you?
