If you have read this blog for very long you know that I love to go outside and capture the beauty of nature.
Fruits, veggies, flowers...camels!
When it comes to beautiful blossoms I go out and bring the beauty indoors in the form of photos stored on the memory card of my camera.
Rarely do I cut them and bring them in.
I don't know what makes me hesitate to cute a flower...it is just an issue I have. Somehow I just cannot bring them from the great outdoors into my house to live out the rest of their short days in a tiny little vase.
Maybe, just maybe I'm projecting onto the flower my feeling for being outside...
It would not be the first time.
Like I said...
I have issues.
But anyway, Sweet Girl found these diminutive beauties growing on the hill in our lower pasture. She begged to bring them in.
I apologized to the little guys and proceeded to cut them and bring them in to live out their lives in a little crystal vase...
Granted it is a very nice crystal vase...a vase that I got as a wedding present almost 26 years ago (a child bride remember). But a vase nonetheless. I set them next to the window so they could see out.
They really are quite lovely sitting there. Like sunshine in a vase. I am trying not to think about how much they must be longing for the wide open spaces of the pasture. How they must be missing the other daffodils that remain wild and free...
How they silently cry.
Ohhh I am so sorry little ones. I'll never ever cut a flower again!
Not without therapy anyway...
