Have you ever wondered what country kids do for kicks?
How they spend their weekends?
Well let me show you...
They put on their art smocks, grab a brush and paint the boxes for their new honey bees.
And although I'm a traditionalist and like my hives looking like this...
White and worn and vintage and wonderful...
My kids were quite sure the new bees needed a color that was more...well, more colorful!
Notice Sweet Girl supervising to make sure her kid brother painted 'correctly'...he hates that!
She is very serious about painting!
The little guy not so much!
For those of you wondering...no we don't usually have a Persian rug on our garage floor. We had an unfortunate weekend of the little one having some sort of stomach virus and the carpet and some of the furniture needed to be professionally cleaned to get the puke out of them.
Aren't you glad I shared that?
I knew you would be!
I must say I am so glad to be getting bees again! I was so sad when we lost all of ours to Colony Collapse Disorder...
I miss seeing and hearing the busy little guys hard at work in my garden and orchard
I also miss the honey they shared with us.
The world be be a much sadder place without bees...
I hope they like their new home!
